Halide Porras, Assistant Clinical Professor and Field Director for the social work program, has worked in various social work settings, including non-profit organizations and hospitals. Her focus is primarily in the emergency room, where she provides extensive crisis intervention, mental health assessments, and trauma case assistance. Through the years, Halide expanded into macro social work, working in program management in behavioral health clinics. She is passionate about advocating for the mental health needs of immigrants and the LGBT community. Her interests also include technology in social work and self-care management.

In her spare time, Halide enjoys watching sports, playing golf, traveling, and spending time with her wife and German Shepherd, Fox.

Education

Halide obtained her master’s degree from the University of Southern California and is currently working on her Doctorate of Health Science at the University of the Pacific.
